The Lookbook
The Heritage Bag is a project that brings into attention the traditional, by translating it into the new. Not only that, but it makes sure that the message of the past is still readable and relevant to the now. What simply came as a quick vision, the iconic Sibiu Romanian Blouse sleeve sticking out of a basket and forming a cool, summer bag, transformed into a project that means so much more!
The visual campaign was made in collaboration with curator, author, anthropologist and ethnograph extraordinaire Iulia Gorneanu.

What began as a fleeting vision—a blonde beauty playing with a basket and her Sibiu Traditional Blouse amidst a lush wheat field—came to life in this captivating video campaign. Filmed on Midsummer Day, a time when nature reaches its peak of ripeness, the video celebrates the creation of something far more meaningful than a simple summer tote: The Heritage Bag.

I conceived the original design of this bag in January 2024. After an intensive product development process, the final design was unveiled on the Summer Solstice. Inspired by the Sibiu Romanian Blouse, this bag is meticulously handcrafted from scratch with the expertise of local artisans from Sibiu and Cisnădie, the very region that inspired its creation. Apart from the vegan-tanned, high-quality leather and hardware, all materials are locally sourced.
Carrying this bag symbolizes a deep connection to tradition and heritage, sharing its story wherever the journey takes it. It proudly embodies Romanian identity and roots. More than just an accessory, The Heritage Bag demonstrates that Romanian heritage is rich, influential, and a perfect source of inspiration for contemporary, high-quality design.
How it was made
The craftsmanship and expertise poured into this project truly deserve a moment of appreciation. I had the privilege of collaborating with three incredibly talented artisans and designers, each a master in their own craft. One specializes in knitting natural materials, another in tailoring luxurious items, and the third is a true “magician” of leatherwork. Remarkably, all three artisans are not only skilled but also close friends, living and working within the same vibrant community in Sibiu.
Given that this creation embodies the very essence of Sibiu, it felt only natural that the makers themselves should hail from the same region that served as the muse for this design. Apart from the mechanical embroidery, every element of this bag has been meticulously handcrafted, ensuring that each piece tells its own unique story of tradition, artistry, and dedication.
