One day in August, I received an unexpected call from someone who had been living in America for many years and had been referred to me, as an artist, by the ever-inspiring Iulia Gorneanu. On the other end of the line was Oana Tucker, whose warm and enthusiastic tone immediately filled me with optimism and excitement. During our brief conversation, Oana shared her vision for an upcoming event and expressed her desire to include me in something truly special. In what felt like an instant, she confidently decided I was not only the right artist for her event but also a great fit for the speaker panel.
After months of planning, discussions, and preparations, the Female Empowerment Summit took place on October 7th. This opportunity was nothing short of perfect for me, as the theme of this year’s Summit, “Celebrating Romanian Heritage: A Journey Through Traditions and Culture,” deeply resonated with my artistic philosophy. It felt like the ideal moment to finally present my series of paintings, The Calendar, a collection that had been carefully tucked away in my studio, waiting for the right audience. And what an audience it was!
The FES community is extraordinary—a gathering of women from Romania and beyond who have achieved remarkable things across diverse fields, from culture and entrepreneurship to national defense. It was a privilege to stand among such inspiring figures and contribute to this celebration of empowerment and heritage.
That day will remain etched in my memory as one of joy and fulfillment. I had the opportunity to meet exceptional new people, exhibit my paintings in the foyer of the prestigious BNR building—a long-held dream come true—and share my story with the world. It was a day of harmony, creativity, and connection, where I could truly be myself, showcasing my art and passion in an atmosphere of support and celebration.
Here, I leave behind the memories of this incredible experience—a testimony to the power of art, community, and the enduring beauty of Romanian traditions.
Life lessons
A profound lesson in 𝓈𝒾𝓈𝓉ℯ𝓇𝒽ℴℴ𝒹, 𝒸ℴ𝓁𝓁𝒶𝒷ℴ𝓇𝒶𝓉𝒾ℴ𝓃, and the transformative power of 𝒸ℴ𝓂𝓂𝓊𝓃𝒾𝓉𝓎. Each day, I find myself understanding these values a little more deeply, and they seem to have come into my life at exactly the right moment. Spending countless hours working alone in the studio, while fulfilling in its own way, can sometimes create a sense of isolation. This experience has reminded me of the beauty and strength that arise from connection and shared purpose.
It was also a valuable lesson in self-worth, setting boundaries, and practicing self-love. These themes have been recurring throughout this year’s experiences, and only now do I fully grasp their importance. They are not just concepts but guiding principles I strive to honor every single day.
