Part of The Muses, a collection of ten works exploring ten distinct emotions and states of mind, Muse I is the crying muse — a portrait of emotion that can no longer remain contained.
Her tears are not necessarily a symbol of sadness. They can belong to grief, relief, longing, exhaustion, tenderness or even joy. Crying becomes a language of its own — the moment when feeling escapes the boundaries of thought and finds its way to the surface.
There is something deeply honest in this loss of control. The muse does not hide or correct herself; she simply allows emotion to exist. In that vulnerability, there is also release — a quiet cleansing, a way of making space for whatever comes next.
Muse I speaks about the freedom of feeling without explanation. She is a reminder that tears do not make us fragile; sometimes they are simply evidence that something within us has been felt completely.
