The Goddess

GODDESS speaks of femininity not as an image, but as a presence.

At the center of the composition, the female figure appears calm and self-possessed, almost as if she has emerged from a mythological world. Her gaze does not fully seek the viewer, and this slight distance deepens her sense of mystery. Her long, dark, flowing hair merges with the background, becoming part of an abstract landscape built from sweeping gestures, layered paint, and visible brushstrokes.

Around her, an organic universe unfolds in deep black, warm browns, bluish grays, pale green, and white, punctuated by terracotta accents. The star-like forms floating through the composition feel symbolic and ritualistic. They do not belong to a clearly defined space, and for that reason they may be read as stars, flowers, talismans, or fragments of an imagined constellation.

Above her head, the circular movement of the brushwork subtly suggests a halo. It is not a religious halo in the traditional sense, but rather the sign of an inner energy — a field of presence that transforms the figure into an archetype.

The central tension of the painting lies in the contrast between the delicacy of the figure and the raw, gestural energy of the space surrounding her. The skin, rendered in soft blush and peach tones, together with the restrained facial features and touches of white and terracotta, stands against the dense and instinctive movement of the background. In GODDESS, femininity is not fragile, but serene, aware, and powerful.

The texture of the canvas remains visible, and the brushstrokes themselves are an essential part of the work’s expression. Transparent areas alternate with denser applications of paint, revealing the painting process and reinforcing the uniqueness of the original piece.
